Multimedia Projector Lamp Replacement
Extending Lamp Life
- - Lamp Replacement
- Do not touch any glass components of the lamp with bare hands. Dirt
from fingerprints may cause heat to concentrate at some points, shortening
the life of the lamp, or the projected image may be obscured. Always
hold the module and not the lamp. If you are changing the lamp only
please use gloves or a suitable cloth.
- Replacing/cleaning the air filter
- Some manufacturers provide a new filter with each lamp. A blocked
filter will make the lamp overheat and fail early. Always use the
enclosed air filter to replace the one that is currently being used.
If you do not receive a new filter with your new lamp please clean
the filter to maintain good airflow in the projector. It is always
helpful to operate the projector in a clean, relatively dust free
environment.
- Switching the projector OFF
- This procedure is very important. Always switch off the projector
using the standby button on the remote control or the standby button
on the projector itself. The projector will go into cool down mode
and the fan(s) will accelerate to help cool the lamp housing quickly.
After a short period the projector will switch itself off completing
the cooling down process. Failure to follow this procedure can cause
the lamp to fail.
- Moving the projector
- Please follow the cooling down process (approx 2 minutes). It is
important that the projector is switched off and the lamp cool before
moving it.
- Dual lamp mode
- Some projectors have a normal lamp mode and an ECONOMY mode . Economy
mode allows the projector to operate more efficiently providing a
longer lamp life. Although this does lead to lower levels of brightness
please try to use the Economy mode as much as you can.
